Eternal Mortification - Awakening Of The Dead

This demo/ep are the first sounds that is coming from Eternal Mortification. Four songs including a 0:30 second intro song. Eternal Mortification has been founded in the early days of 2014. They immediately started recording this demo and finally it has been released.
The Dutch band doesn’t like any difficulties in their music. The only thing that makes the music from Eternal Mortification different from other Dutch OSDM-bands is their singers voice. Not in a bad way but the voice really stands on his own. It almost has a brutal death metal style vocal to it. Further on I’m coming to the conclusion that this band really has influences of Dissect and Gorefest which are Dutch OSDM legends. Funny fact is that the singer Morrison is the son of ex-Dissect and ex-Condolence bassist Edwin Roor. If you really dig the older heavy OSDM style you certainly won’t be disappointed by this demo/ep! It really sounds like a professional OSDM demo/ep instead of an old bad quality demo/ep.
A newer comparison to Eternal Mortification is probably Funeral Whore and Departed Souls. Their style mixed together is the doomy OSDM that Eternal Mortification is producing.
The demo/ep is a great first release of EM. Groovy OSDM with a touch of doom style to it. A great new band and demo has been added to the Dutch legendary style of Old School Death Metal!
All and all this demo is very promising for the EP/Full length that they are going to release some day. I really can’t wait to hear more from these guys! 8 out of 10 for Eternal Mortification – Awakening Of The Dead!
