Entropy - Extinction

Entropy - Extinction.jpg

The deathcore monsters from Australia have produced their very first EP. After releasing a few songs in 2016 and in 2017, the band has decided that an EP should be the next thing they should do. And they have done that. If you’re not familiar with Entropy, the band plays a combination of deathcore and djent.

Needless to say is that this EP is an absolute destroyer. The sheer brutality and breakdowns during the songs is amazing. The breakdowns aren’t the main thing which is good. A lot of ‘brutal’ bands focus too much on the breakdown and that really reflects on the rest of the music. Entropy isn’t one of those bands. They draw a lot of inspiration from their fellow bands in the Australian scene which is buzzing as we speak. What I absolutely love about the vocalist, are his highs. The sheer disgusting voice that appears from his throat is mind-blowing. What is not to forget besides all of that is that the groove is really present. That is what Entropy is doing very well. It isn’t a djent band that is trying to be brutal, which a lot of bands are doing. On the last track they’ve got a guest vocalist from the band Make Way For Man. The combination of the guest vocalist (John Kelly) has been a good choice because he fits in the song very nicely.

‘Extinction’ deserves a lot more praise than it is getting right now. The EP has been put on the YouTube channel ‘Underrated Metal band’ and it is there for a reason. The band certainly has produced a good and it certainly makes me look forward to hear more from Entropy.
