The guitarist Jens send me a message on the GMP page if I was interested in reviewing a Modern Deathmetal/Brutal Death metal album. I couldn’t say no to that when I saw the artwork and listened to a few songs of Obsolete Incarnation – New Breed Of An Uncurable Disease! Here’s a little biography piece for you guys.

The band started in 2009 by Kai, Martin and Christian. They immediately started to play technical death metal. A year later the first EP was released under the name of Insanity Redefined. After that release, there were some line-up changes, by example, one of the founders Christian left the band but they’ve arranged an awesome replacement who listens to the name of Jens (ex-By Brute Force!).

They went to the studio and in January 2015, The album New Breed of An Uncurable Disease was released by themselves.

The album begins with a massive hammer that bears the name of ‘Bloodshed In Progress’. A perfect start of the album. It really prepares you for everything ahead. I’ve started listening to newer Aborted material and after three songs I really understand that this wouldn’t be a bad add to the Aborted albums. It fits perfectly in the style that Obsolete Incarnation is heading for.

The creativity on these songs is amazingly perfect. The low and high vocal style really caught me and before I knew this album is almost over.

Great solos are put into this album. It doesn’t build up to the solos with most band do. Obsolete Incarnation doesn’t play like that. They let the solos flow into the death/grind style that I think is that they play.

Several bassdrops later, I stumble onto this song ‘Fading Light’. Probably my favourite track on this album. Love how all the type of vocals Obsolete Incarnation has has been put into this song along with lovely breakdowns. Best song of this album!

Some bands grow during an album and so does Obsolete Incarnation. When I heard this album was self-released, it blew my mind. The professional sound really want me to hear more from them. Hopefully Obsolete Incarnation will be signed by a big underground label and bring out lots of more music.

From the 10 points I have to spend this album will get an 9.5 out of 10.
