Reaching For Dawn - Their Prophecy

Brutal metal (with core influences) from the south of the Netherlands? Thats the job of Reaching For Dawn since 2011. Formed by Louis, Rogier, Colin, Kaj and Youri this 5-piece machine has produced 2 singles called Their Prophecy and Our Metropolis (with the singer of the Dutch metalcore band The Royal). After many line-up changes (their first guitarist Pim went to The Royal) they have now put these songs together and produced the mini-EP 'Their Prophecy'.
The first song The Prophecy begins with beautiful lick and then goes into a heavy mini breakdown. I have to say that this is new for me, I can't name music by genre which is odd. The vocalist Louis has the more deathcore-type of singing style which fits perfectly in Their Prophecy. At the end of the song it is clear that they also like to play a heavy breakdown. To sum up: Their Prophecy is a fast song with many mixes of every kind of metal. The melodic riffin' has death metal/metal/metalcore styles in it but it has an unique vibe around it.
Their second song (Our Metropolis) Reaching For Dawn has a guest singer (Semuel) who is the current singer of the metalcore band The Royal. Reaching For Dawn has also put many metal-genres into this second song however it has more of an metalcore feeling than the previous song Their Prophecy. No problem at all because they prove that they can also play metalcore which is fine.
Sadly this mini-EP is short and I can't wait when Reaching For Dawn puts out their full length album.
