Debridement - ‘Drowning In A Cesspool Of Malform And Malady’

The one-man project from Northern-Ireland strikes again. After two EP’s, Debridement (Connor Brown, Member of BDM band Oncology) decided to release a much anticipated full length album filled with filth. ‘DIACOMAM’ (album name because it is too long to write) has been released through the respected Rotten Roll Rex label from the country of gore, Germany. With an EP’s released every year since 2016, this is the first full length and I’m honoured to review this piece of filth.
So, if you have never heard of Debridement’s music, you can best describe it as slam with a grindcore element mixed into the slam music. The Northern-Ireland slam king has remain to the grindy slam he was producing the two EP’s before this release.
At some points during ‘DIACOMAM’, Debridement decided to go full Cerebral Incubation and create a whole new age of caveman slam. The sheer filth and slow slams will certainly make you slam-dance like a mindless zombie.
The groovy slam riffs are beyond contagious. Some are even memorable like the ones during the title track ‘DIACOMAM’. Needless to say is that this song is my favorite of them all.
The album is filled with tasteful movie scenes and quotes from a certain president. Which makes the album more and more attractive. At certain points, Mr.Brown is going full on slam mode but at other points he goes full brutal death metal.‘DIACOMAM’ is filled with noticeable guest spots from band like Stillbirth and Colpoclesis. They give the album even more layers of filth. So for brutal death metal fans and slam fans there are a lot to enjoy on the record. Maybe even open minded goregrind fans may enjoy ‘DIACOMAM’.
